Assistant Production Manager

We are looking for a motivated hard-worker who has leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. The successful candidate will have strong math skills and be organized, energetic and safety conscious. Must be able to work with minimal direction and able to work overtime if necessary. Ability to distinguish between colors and hues and ability to push/pull/lift up to 50 lbs. at times is required. Strong mechanical aptitude, ability to multi-task and see beyond the present situation are needed.

 

Job duties include: monitoring performance of employees, monitoring production and staffing levels of the molding department, molding technician duties, daily audits, and any other duties as required by manager.

Casting Technician

This individual will build silicone tools, cast urethane models, and finish masters for prototype parts to meet customer requirements.  An understanding of mold splits, undercuts, venting/gating and other basic molding techniques and methods a plus.  In addition, your experience should include knowledge of basic shop equipment (including band and table saws, end-mill, and drill press), measuring tools and devices, and understanding of the characteristics of silicones, urethanes, and epoxies, and a basic understanding of computers.  Related college or trade school education is also an advantage.

Finishing Technician (Eau Claire and Hudson, WI locations)

This is an entry level position and would be an ideal match for a person who has good mechanical skills, is creative, self-motivated, safety conscious, works with little or no supervision and available for overtime if necessary. 

First Article Inspector

Summary: Perform first article inspections per customer requirements to assure products meet customer expectations. Provide guidance to molding operators to assure customer expectations are met.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Verify acceptable product at startup
  • Monitor product during entire production for compliance
  • Instruct operators to changing conditions or expectations
  • Instruct operators on proper methods and procedures
  • Verify all visual and dimensional inspections are in accordance with the inspection plan
  • Assure all paperwork is completed on each job
  • Maintain order of files and records
  • Create certification of compliance forms
  • Work toward fostering a team environment
  • Conduct first article inspections as required from customer specific dimensions to full part layout
  • Prepare PPAP documents based on AIAG standards or customer requirement
  • Prepare FAI reports based on customer requirements
  • Any other duties as required by manager
  • Maintain Quality Management System compliance.

Physical Demands: Regularly required to talk or hear. Frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Work Environment: Frequently works near moving mechanical parts. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. Noise level is that of a manufacturing environment and is usually loud. Hearing protection is required in designated areas according to governmental standards.

Maintenance Technician

The successful candidate must be able to repair and maintain equipment (electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, electronic) or coordinate the repair process. Establish and maintain records for preventive and corrective maintenance on major equipment. Build and install accessories to support the manufacture of products. Communicate with manufacturing to establish priorities based on customer expectations. Knowledge of plastics manufacturing strongly preferred. Candidates will have 1 to 3 years of experience in the maintenance field.

Manufacturing Engineer

The successful candidate develops process parameters for new tooling, refine and improve existing processes and generate documentation and monitoring system to assure standards are maintained.  This is someone who can instill both discipline and inspiration in your workforce. Will have the ability to identify problems and address them accordingly; able to work with minimal direction and ability to work overtime if necessary. Working weekends and off shifts is required. Successful candidates will have integrity, a sense of urgency and a desire to control their own future.

Material Handler

We are looking for a motivated hard-worker who is willing to work together with all areas of manufacturing. Duties will include all pre and post-production transferring of materials, monitoring of material inventory, and maintaining documentation throughout all processes.  Strong mechanical aptitude, ability to multi-task and see beyond the present situation are needed. The successful candidate will have strong math skills and be organized, energetic and safety conscious. Must be available for overtime if necessary. Previous forklift experience is a plus. Ability to distinguish between colors and hues and ability to push/pull/lift up to 50 lbs. at times is required

Mold Technician

Responsibilities and Duties: The successful candidate will have the ability to set-up, change and maintain 35 ton to 1000 ton injection molding machines and their processes; maintain and monitor the quality of parts being prepared for shipment, determine processing parameters of various tools, have the ability to identify problems and address them accordingly.

Qualifications and Skills: Able to work with minimal direction and ability to work overtime if necessary; 4 to 5 years of set-up experience a plus. Successful candidates will have integrity, a sense of urgency, and a desire to control their own future.

Molding Operator

$2 per hour bonus for off shift! Immediate Openings!

Duties will include the manual operation of injection molding machines, finishing and trimming of parts, basic part inspection, reporting paperwork, housekeeping duties, and any other duties as assigned.  These are entry-level positions and would be an ideal match for a person who is energetic, self-motivated, safety-conscious, has attention to detail, can work with little or no supervision, and is available for overtime if necessary.

Production Process Coordinator

This position is responsible for training operators on quality aspects, documenting processes and procedures for new products, working on quality and training issues for the molding area, creating in process inspection plans based on customer requirements, creating certification of compliance forms, providing breaks to operators and working on other duties as required to meet departmental expectations. This position will also conduct blueprint reading and interpretation for operators, spot measure to meet customer needs, utilize the CMM (coordinate measuring machine) and optical comparator as necessary, create in process inspection and SPC data sheets based on customer requirements as well as create certification of compliance forms.

Job Shadowing and Hands on Training would be provided from Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality Departments. This person would be trained under our ISO 9001:2000 compliance training program.

Project Manager

The successful candidate will be responsible for pro-active management of multiple, concurrent projects which require ongoing, aggressive customer and internal communication, and coordination from start to finish.

Set Up Technician

Shipping / Receiving / Warehouse & Inventory Control Personnel

Successful Candidate will be performing daily shipping and receiving duties for entire manufacturing facility.  Maintaining the warehouse flow, also maintaining and monitoring inventory levels of all material, components, packaging, finished goods, product in production.  Data entry skills required, previous experience in an ERP system preferred.

Tool Maker

Five Star Plastics is looking for a person with 5+ years of experience with detailed knowledge of plastic injection mold construction, high precision CNC machining, and experience with programming 2D and 3D toolpaths. Sinker EDM experience also preferred. This person should be self-motivated with a sense of urgency, have good troubleshooting skills and mechanical abilities, and also have the ability to work with minimal direction. The candidate will have a working knowledge of general tool room equipment, the ability to read blueprints, and good organizational skills. Associates Degree in the Machine Tooling Techniques program or equivalent experience.
